Despite being the most senior of the South Tahoe casinos, Harveys has a rock ‘n’ roll streak, as evidenced by being the location of Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina and the Hard Rock Café as well as hosting the Summer Concert Series in the outdoor amphitheater. Today we know Harveys as the hotel casino on the lake side of the casino corridor, right on the state line.
Harveys Wagon Wheel Saloon and Gambling Hall was the first casino built at South Shore and was named for its owner, Nevada gaming pioneer Harvey Gross.
