Charles Town has garnered much attention for its Grade 2, $1 million Charles Town Classic, which is the richest race run at the track by a considerable margin and often draws a Grade 1 caliber field despite not officially having that designation. It generally runs five days a week, though over the summer the race week gets cut down to four days.
